Founded in 1949, Mount Sinai Medical Center is the largest independent, private, not-for-profit teaching hospital in South Florida, and is located on the campus of one of the largest hospitals in the state. This facility in Miami Beach includes office space for 80 physicians in private practice.
The Medical Center’s oceanfront site constraints required development of this building above a six-level, 491 car parking structure. The building has been named for Dr. Donald Golden and family after a multi-million-dollar unrestricted contribution.
Increased impact resistance is a requirement commonly encountered in hurricane-prone regions. These additional performance requirements require specific expertise.
Under a design build contract, our teams engineered and crews installed Enclos 7030 Curtainwall System with Enclos 5530 Strip Window System across the facade. The glass is large impact glass, including two panes of glass and a triple layer inner core. Standard NOA hurricane testing was performed on the facade systems.
