Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia: Abramson Research Center

Enclos has a storied career working alongside repeat clients. Our work currently on display at the Abramson Pediatric Research Institute and Colket Translational Research Building serves as yet another recent example.

When the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia wished to expand the Abramson building, L.F. Driscoll called upon Enclos for a 10-story addition to the already existing 5-story low-rise wing. Custom curtainwall systems include expansive usages of glass, precast concrete panels, and two types of granite cladding. The 125,000 square foot expansion adds six floors of laboratories, two floors of office space, and two floors for mechanical equipment. Today Abramson houses approximately 700 employees supporting the hospital’s laboratory research efforts.
