The Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University have announced the naming of the under-construction Health Education Campus to Sheila and Eric Samson Pavilion. The Foster + Partner design for the Pavilion features a 4-story rectangular building with a prominent stainless steel canopy that will enclose a total of 485,000 square feet of lecture halls, teaching labs, virtual anatomy spaces, a medical library, student amenities, administrative and support spaces to promote collaborative learning.
Enclos provided design-assist and construction services for the new facility’s enclosure, including glass ribbon windows set on 30-ft steel spandrel trusses clad in aluminum and Stoneglass panels, pre-glazed storefront curtainwall, a skylight system and a sag-rod glass wall at the north and south elevations’ winter gardens.
The facility is set to open summer 2019.
