The Clark County Government Center is a 375,000 square foot complex designed by Fentress Bradburn in downtown Las Vegas. It’s comprised of a six-story administration building, three single-story buildings for the commissioners’ chambers, a multipurpose community facility, and a central plant. The campus uses genuine sandstone exteriors with rose-tinted windows to blend with the surrounding desert environment.
The Center’s focal point is a multifunctional county courtyard and shaded pedestrian spine. The sheltered, circular arcade supplements the circular form of the buildings. Three rows of trees framing a sloped lawn amphitheater are aligned radially with the columns. A centered raised platform creates the stage. The one-and-a-half-acre amphitheater spans 280 feet in diameter and accommodates public gatherings and performances.
Enclos provided design-build services for the campus’ 85,000 square feet of facade.
The Center has received numerous awards, including the AIA Western Mountain Region’s “25 Year Award” and Las Vegas Journal’s “People’s Choice Award” from 1998-2005.
