Position Overview
An Associate Engineer provides engineering services associated with the design, fabrication, and installation of curtainwall and related façade systems under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic structural engineering analysis and design calculations under the supervision and direction of a P.E.
- Explores opportunities to gain knowledge and experience in company policies and processes, industry standards and practices, and career growth and development.
- Initiates communication and interaction with experienced engineers to receive appropriate training and direction.
- Works collaboratively with other structural engineers, designers and technical project managers through strong oral and written communication skills.
- Manages assigned tasks and duties efficiently to meet project objectives and deadlines.
Minimum Education/Licensure/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree B.S. from ABET accredited four-year college or university in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- E.I.T. certificate gained through successful completion of the NCEES F.E. exam.
Technical Skills
- High-level mathematical proficiency in geometry, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus; two- and three-dimensional engineering aptitude in physics, statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials; and an understanding of stress/strain, failure modes, and limit states.
- Computer/software competence in computer-aided design CAD, computer-aided engineering CAE, word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet.
