We are seeking a driven and talented Structural Engineer I (Engineer in Training) to join Enclos, a leading specialty subcontractor renowned for constructing iconic buildings and skyscrapers across the nation. Position Overview:

  • Provides engineering services associated with the design, fabrication, and installation of curtainwall systems.
  • Develops structural engineering and curtainwall knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic structural engineering analysis and design calculations under the supervision and direction of a P.E.
  • Drafts solutions using hand sketches and computer aided design (CAD).
  • Analyzes systems and components using hand calculations and computer aided engineering (CAE) software.
  • Designs facades that follow building code, material design code, project specification, and vendor literature.
  • Works collaboratively in diverse teams solving abstract and complex problems.
  • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervising P.E.
  • Assigned tasks that have clear and specific objectives.

Education/Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from an ABET accredited four-year College or University in Engineering, Civil or Structural Degree preferred. No work experience is required.
  • I.T. Certificate is required. Committed to obtaining P.E. Registration after required level of experience is preferred.
  • 1 year engineering internship is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to support P.E. in writing technical reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts as geometry, algebra, trigonometry, exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply engineering concepts in two and three dimensions such as, statics, mechanics of materials, and stress and strain.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to use CAD, Word Processing, spreadsheet, Email and Internet software.
  • Familiarity with STAAD Pro v8, MathCAD, Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit or similar design and analysis software preferred.
  • Understands failure modes and limit states.
  • Strong spatial and visual aptitude preferred.
